Things that make me laugh, foreign language version

I love to travel, and before I venture off to a foreign country, I try to learn a little of their language and customs, rather than expecting my hosts always to adapt to my language and American ways. I also appreciate it when businesses in foreign countries put menus and signage in English so I am not totally at a loss. That said, I do get a chuckle when reading their translations into English.

Can’t remember in which country I found this, but I think they were referring to crocheted doilies, not underwear.

Menu from our boat, the Pelican, at HaLong Bay. The food on board was delicious and beautifully presented, but after hearing the scratching and clawing of rodents in the thatched roof of our bedroom, Gretchen and I both passed on the mice pork.

Sign outside of the “Dark and Bright Cave” on Halong Bay. Still wondering why anyone would break the tree, and if that’s a big problem at the cave.
